Solex S 3800 USA Dealers and Distributors 1966 - 2006

These are dealers and distributors that sold the Solex S 3800 USA between 1966 and 2006.

H. F. Enterprises

autocollant, Solex the bicycle with the motor

H.F. Enterprises was run by Mr. Henry Farmer and was based in Montclair, New Jersey.

Mr. Farmer used the logo pictured above on many of his Solexes.

I have seen the logo on the seat post, on the frame side, and on the metal fuel tank.

I have seen HFE Solexes in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.

National Inventor's Society

National Inventors S 3800 sticker - blue luxe

National Inventors Society was run by Mr. Jim Neil and was based in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Neil would purchase all of the individual Solex pieces from the Veloslex factory in France, and then he and his workers would assemble the bikes in his warehouse. The sticker pictured above was then affixed to the seat post, stating the the bike was "Made in Detroit". Often, the "Made in France" metal tag was removed. I have found National Inventors Society Solexes in Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. From what I have seen, Mr. Neil sold more Solexes in the USA than anybody else.

Detroit is definitely "Solex Central" because of his work.

VeloCruz was run by Tommie Matthews and his family, and was based in Sandy, Utah. They sold Hungarian Solex S 3800s.

VeloCruz is still in business, and is being run by Jeff Matthews, son of Tommie, but sells no more new, complete bikes, only replacement parts and vintage Solexes. http://velocruz.com
